The title of this post, together with my earlier post today (A Confession… I’ve been cruising the Streets…), may suggest I am trying to pull in new readers with attention-grabbing titles to my posts. Well, yes, but in this instance it’s true – The Spaniel really can spell her name – well, she actually spelled Jes.. in the sand (the ‘s’ was missing, but she’s forgiven, she is a spaniel after all, right?).
The beach The Spaniel was digging on had white golden sands, accompanied by blue skies, and a light blue sea – we could be anywhere in New Zealand, but we were in The Coromandel, a penisula to the East of Auckland about 2 hours drive from the CBD. We were staying at Whenuakite, on the eastern side of peninsula south east of Whitianga, a busy tourist hub. The beach The Spaniel is digging in is Hahei beach, which was just a few clicks from where we were camping. The beach lies just by Hahei a small quite township. We arrived at the beach on The Friday evening – the first day of our weekend away, and when we saw the beach we realised we had come to a beautiful place.
More posts on our weekend to The Coromandel to follow… we’ll focus on The Coromandel and not The Spaniel next time…
