If you speak to a local, or indeed anyone that has visited the Coromandel, they will all tell you that Cathedral Cove is one of the “must visit” sites on the Coromandel Peninsula. Lots of people told us we should go, so we did…

We chose to walk the track from the northern end of Hahei to Cathedral Cove (see here for more details). The track drops from the car park into a puriri grove and then meanders through native bush and pine forests. You can drop by Stingray Bay on the way, which I’ve heard you can occassionally see Orcas as they swim into the bay to feed on the stingrays.

This place is beautiful. The tag line for The Coromandel says, The Coromandel is good for the soul… and it is. On this occassion, I will let the photos speak for themselves… enjoy.
